Newfoundland Hard-Rok Inc. manufactures and sells bulk Ammonium Nitrate, Ammonium Nitrate Fuel Oil mixture, bulk emulsion and bulk emulsion ANFO blends. All of these products are manufactured at our Corner Brook factory site (see Manufacturing). They are delivered to our customers on one of our new bulk deliver vehicles (see Blasting /bulk delivery systems).
Where larger quantities of explosives are required, bulk loading saves time, saves labor and improves explosives performance. Dyno Nobel America pioneered most of the bulk loading technology that is in use around the globe today and continues to lead the industry in bulk explosives technology.
At our new state of the art manufacturing facility in Corner Brook, Newfoundland Hard-Rok Inc. produces the Titan series emulsion. TITAN XL 1000 is a gassed, bulk emulsion made from TITAN 1000 or TITAN 1000 G specifically designed for quarry and open pit mining operations. Transported as an oxidizer, TITAN XL 1000 is formulated to be sensitized during the borehole loading process using Dyno Nobel's innovative chemical gassing and emulsion processing technology. The process used to manufacture TITAN XL 1000 enhances water resistance and detonation performance while improving loading characteristics. Chemical gassing allows the average density of TITAN XL 1000 to be varied as required to optimize its explosive performance for best blast results.

Dyno Nobel Ammonium Nitrate prills are industrial grade and specifically designed to be used as a solid oxidizer ingredient for explosive compositions such as ANFO, WR ANFO, Heavy ANFO Emulsion and Watergels. They are small-sized, low-moisture content, non-setting, porous spheres (prills) that have an average diameter range between 0.055 to 0.078 in (1.4 to 2.0mm). The particle density of the prills is such that, when liquid fuel is properly applied to and mixed with them, the prills absorb the fuel uniformly which enhances reactivity.
